This tale concerns a set of luggage belonging to "somebody" that is left behind in an inn. After a long search for the owner and a decent stretch of waiting time, an inn worker takes ownership of the bags and finds a manuscript inside. The rest of the story is quite entertaining. I especially liked Dickens' one diversion when he said (regarding what I can't remember), "that is to say, namely, viz., i.e., as follows, thus." His word play is always choice. The ending was a bit of a pleasant surprise. by Melodee

Aughhhh, another Charles Diskens book I couldn't wait to put down. It tried my patience to the ends. Long, stretched out, over dialogued...I simply forced myself to finish this book. I love Dickens when he's on, but my bucket list to read all of his books may turn out to be part torture.Product details

I am glad that more of Dickens's "lesser" works are being made available. The format of the this series is great, too. I plan to purchase the series and watch for more as they are published.
Didn't hold my attention.
Classic in the bushes dickens
This was really a couple of stories within a story. Enjoyed it very much! Would recommend to anyone. Loved it.
Difficult to follow and some pages appear to be missing. Would not look to read anything similar. Waste of time
quite a surprising twist in the mainstream of this master I recognise the fact that I will have to reread it at least once more before I can find a more definitive shape to both his thoughts and if possiblem my own.
